About Nirmal
I started my journey of learning healing practices in 2013, studying art and art therapy. My passion for dance brought me to dive deep into the different layers of Contact Improvisation Dance, Somatic, Body Mind Centering, and Multidisciplinary Improvisation. I travelled Europe, Asia, and the Middle East learning from numerous Teachers practices that helped me connect with my body and express my inner voice.
Contact Improvisation, as a 'Microcosmos of Life', had a big influence on my view of social relations, physical and emotional awareness, and self-expression. I then discovered the performance side of dance and movement practice, studying with Katie Duck and Julien Hamilton. This opened new ways of understanding about art and its potential. I soon realised the power of performing art, dance, and music as tools that can be used for healing purposes.
In 2014, interested in finding more balance and wellbeing, I began studying energetic practices. I learned Yang Tai Chi Chuan at Master Ding School in Ireland, and different styles of Chi Kung at Song Long School in Paris and at Lotus Centre Cambodia. This learning, together with the study of Yoga Asanas, brought about a deep awareness of the physical body, and the effect that Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda practices can have on the Energetic Body.
The first meeting with Aquatic Practices happened in 2016, when I first received an Aquatic Bodywork session. My connection with the water element was always deep, and the experience was so powerful that brought me to the practitioner learning path. Since then I have received more than 800 hours of training, learning Watsu®, OBA®, Healing Dance®, and Liquid Flow Essence® with Watsu India Mentors in Auroville. I am a certified Watsu® Practitioner since January 2020.
While travelling to learn and practice Contact Improvisation, Somatic Practices and Aquatic Bodywork, I was also exposed to many other practices that influenced my way of perceiving life and improved my self-awareness. As a person committed to working on my personal traumas and understanding my inner voices I have also been regularly practicing Holotropic breathwork, as well as participating in Family Constellation sessions and Plant Medicine ceremonies.
I have embraced the spiritual path trying and practicing gentle meditation techniques such as Goenka
Vipassana meditation, which have been important tools for cultivating inner peace. I have then experienced Osho’s Dynamic Meditation techniques and teachings, which have helped me in releasing traumas and have
deeply influenced me and my practice as facilitator. In 2022 I have undertaken a facilitator teacher training course to share Osho work with individuals and groups.
In recent years, feeling the need to balance the lightness and dimension of water with more grounding and land practices, I began to learn Thai Yoga massage, Osteothai, and Craniosacral with Itzhak Helman and the Sunshine Network Auroville. In addition to this my interest and passion for Tantsu® (Tantric Shiatsu) deepened. After more than 400 hours of training, and experiences accumulated in giving sessions to clients over four years, i started to adopt an intuitive approach to one-on-one treatments, and to develop my own way of giving healing sessions.
With the intention of integrating into my sessions the most effective principles of such healing modalities, i focus on the somatic aspect, on the lifeforce energy, and in deepening the listening of my hands and my heart. I have guided groups in discovering the beauty of the conscious and healing touch in the 'Heart Connection Bodywork Exchange' sessions, and by offering it on a one-on-one basis.
In 2022 I started to offer guided somatic exploration for trauma release, where receivers connects with their emotional and physical bodies to observe and work on their own blockages and issues.
Keen to continue studying and learning, I believe in the creation of a safe and caring space where the healing work can bring positive changes. During recent years I have had the privilege to share my practices on the lands and in the waters of Ireland, Spain, Romania, Portugal, Denmark, India, Israel, and Thailand.
I believe in the connection with Nature and with Others through non verbal communication such as breath, gravity, and touch, and find water to be especially powerful in gently supporting the connection between people.
I will be happy to answer any questions about private sessions or group practices.
